Do we need to be wine buffs to enjoy a wine event?
No – just an enthusiasm for having fun
and experimenting a little is all that’s
needed. We tailor our events to our audience,
from novice to expert. We can discuss this
when you contact us.
Is it
stuffy?
No! But then neither is it ‘gimmicky’
or entirely superficial. We aim for the right
mix of entertainment, discovery, and fun to
suit your needs.
How much do you charge?
Pricing depends on five main factors –
the price of the wines; the numbers attending;
the type of catering; the venue; and any travel
involved. A highly enjoyable wine tasting
at your office will start at just £25+VAT
per person including wine, glasses, materials,
and prizes. A wine and restaurant tour of
a famous wine region for your six best clients
will cost several hundred pounds. Contact
us with your needs and we’ll draw
up a proposal.

How much will the venue cost?
Some restaurants will provide a private
dining room at little or no charge if a
certain number of guests are attending and
the menu warrants it. Many venues have rooms
especially for corporate and private events,
with a range of room sizes to suit your
numbers. As an approximate guide in London,
a room for 20 or less guests will typically
start at around £250 excluding VAT.
There is a wide selection of mid-sized (30
to 70 guests) rooms for hire in the £450~£900
range. We can help with finding the right
venue and include this in our package.
Will the venue allow you to bring
your own wine?
Some won't, but most will. Many venues charge a 'corkage fee' for bringing wine but depending on the quality of wine to be used at your event, paying 'corkage' is often considerably less expensive than using the venue's wine list.
How long does an event normally
take?
A Wine tasting
or ‘Wine Challenge’
can be conducted in about 1½ hours,
or up to 2 hours depending on your requirements. A Wine Themed Dinner
usually takes about 2½ to 3 hours
(with the dining room available for longer if required). A Wine Excursion can be comfortably done in a day (such as a wine-themed lunch in Paris), but can last several days depending on what is sought.
How much wine will people drink?
It's up to each individual but normally, about one thirds of a bottle for tasting events and about two third of a bottle for dinners per person. More can be provided, if required, but there's usually wine left over from the 'tasting' part of the event for those who want a little more.

Do people have to spit out the
wine?
No! For most events this isn't necessary, but we can provide spittoons for daytime corporate events, or for wine tastings for those in the group who intend to drive home afterwards. (Alternative transport is strongly advised).
What about food?
For a wine tasting
or a wine challenge
we recommend some canapés. We can work with your in house caterers to help match the wines to your menu, or we can bring in a suitable caterer, or work with the caterer at the venue you choose. The ultimate way to incorporate food with wine is our wine themed dinner.
How many people do we need?
There are some fixed costs involved in staging
an event, but we will create something for
you from as little as one or two people
if that’s what you want. For most
types of event, numbers around 20 or more
will enable the best value to be had.
