Level 2cms below base of cork.
Mature colour, clear yet healthy; very sweet on the nose – red and black fruit compote, with a savoury tapenade-like note, and a medicinal licorice note; decadent, sweet, soft and fully mature on the palate, with lingering sweet flavours on the finish. Very popular at our tasting, but I found it almost sickly. I did agree with a suggestion that it would make an excellent wine to serve with pork. - Linden Wilkie
Light brick w/ lightening at the edge. Caramel berry compote nose. Sweet/ripe attack w/ fully mature tannins; good balance; short finish; at end of aging curve; too light to serve with cheese or most foods; drink up. - Charles Darnell
Tasted at our Jaboulet Hermitage ‘La Chapelle’ Vertical Tasting, 30th March 2004.
