Level 1.5cms below base of cork.
Fairly deep ruby with a developed rim; great complexity on the nose – voluminous aromas of herbs, game and iodine; richness on the palate with real depth and layers of flavour – pepper, herbs, iodine, fruit, and great length. Still tannic on the finish, yet this has perfect weight and balance. Already a real pleasure to drink, this will continue to develop. - Linden Wilkie
Deep crimson w/ brick edge. Dirty nose of old dishwater w/ iodine and some red fruit. Dark fruit attack, but insufficient complexity and depth to warrant the RP100 points. Needs more expression; overall this is an OK wine, but too $$$. Perhaps this bottle was a bit off? - Charles Darnell
Tasted at our Jaboulet Hermitage ‘La Chapelle’ Vertical Tasting, 30th March 2004.
