Max Schubert’s last vintage as chief winemaker.
Fruit from Kalimna, Barossa Valley, and Coonawarra. Mainly shiraz with a little Cabernet. 18 months in new American oak hogsheads.
Quite deep, almost opaque ruby garnet with a bright rim; sweet fragrant nose, with tobacco, coffee mocha and prune notes; rich on the palate, with lovely fruit and tertiary flavours of tobacco, coffee, with good concentration and length, with a firm, ripe tannic finish.
