Lovely saturated ruby with a touch of crimson, non-filtered appearance – very fine; sweet aromas – cherry and floral, but also mineral and a touch of chocolate too – just beautiful; thick in the mouth, ripe, powerful, complex, firm but very supple and seamless. This has a very long finish of exotic fruit and an iron-like minerality. Power and elegance. Wonderful.
Christian Moueix commented at the tasting that he went for gentleness with richness – a “controlled explosion”. He felt it was already a brilliant wine that could be enjoyed – rich, with no aggressiveness.
