Mid-ruby, stained legs; opulent ripe nose, more roast meat and savouriness than the 2000. Ripe, rich, fine tannin, grip, long but not elegant – lacking suppleness in the mid-palate and only moderate concentration. Bitter chocolate notes on the finish. A very nice wine nonetheless.
Christian Moueix commented that this was a good vintage with charm, decent length, good balance, less dense than other vintages, slightly floral – which is not typical.
