2ème Cru Classé, St Julien
Nice deep ruby core with a bricky rim; sweet open aromas, fruity and expressive; delicious on the attack, taut, ripe, elegant, then astringent tannin on the finish. There was a flatness to the mid-palate and lack of flavour on the finish that left us debating whether this was a poor bottle - on the threshold of cork-taint or some other problem.
Therefore judgement reserved.
