2ème Cru Classé, St Julien
Very deep colour - opaque core, ruby rim; fairly closed on the nose; rich and tannic on the palate - there is a great deal of extract and power to this wine, but there is currently a wall of unyielding tannin. The wine's texture and length indicate a possible future, but it is hard ot predict, and is currently not giving much away.
Many at our tasting rated this highly, but for me, it is not something I would prefer to drink, and it needs at least another 5 years before being remotely approachable.
