2ème Cru Classé, St.-Estephe
Mature colour – garnet core with a bricky rim; sweet biscuity nose with sweet blackcurranty fruit and sweet spices; ripe flavoured, round, fruity Montrose with that ’86 firmness to the tannin on the finish. This is actually quite a friendly ’86 however, the wine having a ripeness and length to it. Not as big and burly as some grands vins of the vintage, this is drinking well and has good balance and a warm, rounded, ripe character. Will keep and probably improve yet.
