Ruby core with a bricky rim; slightly reticent nose after the 1985 – and more about sweet fruit than the tertiary aromas on the 1985; sweet, soft ripe plummy fruit, reasonably straightforward in the context of this tasting, though still with a lovely cedary sweetness on the finish. “Nice”, but not compelling.
(Neal Martin commented that this example of the 1982 was not as good as some other Ch Haut Brion 1982s he has had).
