More youthful colour than the 1996. Corked – tasting this revealed a very fine structure in the mouth, but of course no fruit due to horrible cork-taint. A real pity, as Anthony Hanson MW had mentioned to me a couple of days before the tasting, how this should prove one of the highlights in the tasting. Another drop in the ocean of wine ruined by cork taint!
