Striking colour – at once very deep at the core – garnet, with a very amber rim; rich aroma – quite savoury and mature, with an acid (perhaps a touch of VA) lift; richness and concentration on the palate, quite savoury in style. A bit ‘chunky’, with very firm abundant tannin on the finish. Despite its qualities, perhaps now drying out, the tannin becoming a bit too obtrusive.
