1èr Cru Classé, Margaux
Deep ruby with developed rim; rich floral and chocolate nose showing real ripeness, with minerals and spice – quite sweet aromas; delicious ‘biscuity’ wine with delicacy and length, just lacking a little of the complexity expecting from this monumental vintage – still a little closed down and ‘dumb’ though so perhaps there is more to come. An hour in the glass still not showing the class of its reputation, and so, a little disappointing. Still no doubting a great wine here though.
