Join young Burgundy rising star Pierre-Vincent Girardin (“PVG”) in person in Hong Kong, to learn about his wines over dinner at Bâtard. We are often asked “so, who is new that I should know about?”, and PVG is always someone we name without reservation.

Pierre-Vincent’s father created the very well known domaine Vincent Girardin, but with his kids not originally interested, he sold that all off (saving one or two choice vineyards only). Then Pierre-Vincent decided it was the career he wanted – becoming the 13th generation in his family to do so. The loss of his father’s domaine may be seen as a blow, but it was actually quite liberating for Pierre Vincent, who – just 21 years old when he began in 2017 – was able to envisage everything he wanted from the ground up, fresh. He chooses the appellations he wants to work with, he designed and built a state of the art winery, and equipped it according to his ideas.

Pierre-Vincent has benefitted from his father’s extensive experience in Burgundy, and the wine world in general, but as with every generation, his ideas are fresh. He strives for intensity in the whites, and delicacy in the reds, with a collection that is immaculate, and precisely expressive of site. Join PVG for a broad range of his wines of both colours from the contrasting 2020 and 2021 vintages, while discussing them with the man himself.
